One Card To Ride Them All- A Vision For Regional Transit by Jamaal Myers, City Councillor (2026-04-27)

Join TTC Chair and City Councillor Jamaal Myers as he presents a bold vision for a unified provincial transit system through the proposed “Ontario Card.” Building on recent advancements such as PRESTO’s Open Payments, One Fare integration, and TTC fare capping, this concept aims to simplify travel across Ontario with a single, seamless fare structure.

Drawing inspiration from Germany’s Deutschland ticket, Chair Myers will explore how a province-wide fare cap could improve affordability, enhance regional connectivity, and deliver a more user-focused transit experience. The session will also examine how this approach aligns with evolving provincial priorities, including the implications of Bill 98, while maintaining local transit governance and operational flexibility.
