  • 2019-11-29
  • 12:00 PM (UTC-03:00)
  • 97 Front Street, Maple Boardroom
Rina will provide an update of the GTA West Transportation Corridor Route Planning and EA Study, currently in Stage 2.

The first stage of the study identified the future transportation needs for all transportation modes and culminated in the development of a multimodal Transportation Development Strategy (TDS). The Stage 1 TDS identified that in addition to expanding existing corridors, implementing transit facilities identified by Metrolinx, and introducing travel demand strategies, a new route from Highway 400 between Kirby Road and the King-Vaughan Road to Highway 401 in the vicinity of the Highway 401 / 407ETR interchange would be required.

Stage 2 builds on the recommendations from Stage 1 and identifies a preferred route. The new multimodal transportation corridor will include a 400 series highway, a transitway, and potential goods movement priority features.
