    The City of Mississauga adopted its first Transportation Master Plan in 2019. At its heart, is a commitment to the ‘Freedom to Move’ for all travellers. It challenged staff to deliver a future where most trips are outside the driver's seat by 2041. To deliver this future, much attention is given to infrastructure projects, such as new rapid transit, complete street initiatives, or bike lane networks.

    An equally important focus must be placed on transportation operations. Day-to-day decisions, like road occupancy permit coordination, signal control, transportation data collection and management, and road safety implementation can make or break a multi-modal future.

    Alex will discuss how the City is operationalizing its TMP vision by planning for the future of traffic management, road safety, and transportation data.
